The 2010 Inferno 5k Run/Walk was an idea by a Cabot Fire Fighter who wished to help raise money for a new fire prevention trailer. The new fire prevention trailer will greatly increase the communication between the fire department and the children in the City of Cabot.

Located near Higden, AR Greers Ferry Lake will be the location of the 2011 Local 4544 Fishing Tournament. March 26th 2011!!!

IAFF 4544 Charity Fishing Tournaments is now officially online! We proudly present our new website, created by our sponsor, Cokato Computer Service Web Design.

This year the event staff of the Local 4544 Tournaments took a different approach than they did in 2009. More sponsors + Huge Payout = 51 TEAMS! It all started in January with brochures ready to go out to local businesses. Online advertisement on www.get5bass.com seemed to get the attention of many fishermen. But the V.I.P sponsor goes to Jeremy Guenter and 105.1 The Wolf (Clear Channel Radio). Jeremy and his crew at Clear Channel pushed and pushed the information of this tournament out to thousands of listeners for nearly a whole month! Jeremy also starred, in person, as the guest weigh master this year! Also, I believe the $1000 guaranteed 1^st place prize lured several of the participants to Devil’s Fork this year.

1. ELIGIBILITY: All teams will consist of no more than two persons that have paid the appropriate fees to compete. Event Staff and Tournament Director retain the right to refuse any Entry to any Team.

This year's turnout more than doubled, it actually multiplied almost 10 fold. We had 51 teams this year! Team Picker/Harris won this year with 5 fish for 13.41 pounds and took home $1000. Team James/Rowland came a close second with 13.26 pounds and took home $500. Team West/West placed third with 13.13 pounds and a purse of $400. Team West also caught the $500.00 big fish weighing in at 6.11 pounds. Thanks to everyone that made this even successful.

The day before the first Cabot Local 4544 hosted fishing tournament. The weather was beautiful on Greer’s Ferry Lake and some pre-fishing gave a few teams some good confidence for the first annual event. Tournament Director, Nick Karras, and the event staff were fearful of the weather that had yet to come. The news called for severe thunderstorms through-out the night and here we are camping in tents the night prior to the tournament. The storms didn’t come until after we all had fallen asleep, but once they started nobody got any rest the remainder of the night.
